A little rough not being able to drive vehicles to your campsite. Other than that. Great campground!!!

i didn't know quite what to expect, hope the following will help future/prospective campers. first, it's a very unique place - only four campsites, in the middle of a city park. great natural setting with amazing views only short walk away. the price is high (though i only paid $87 for the night) but when you realize each site can take many tents (you get 4 vehicle permits per site), it makes more sense. i was just by myself and still to me the experience was worth it. during my stay, all 4 sites were booked but there was only one other tent and i saw no people. odd, but quiet. sites are well separated. traffic dies down by 10pm so the loudest thing was the owl. and the distant bridge fog horn. it's dark, and damp in the fog, so be prepared for that. parking is remote from the sites and you don't want to leave anything in the car. there are 'beware of crime' signs everywhere. campers get access code to use the bathrooms, which are clean. overall the place is clean and well maintained. this is not for everyone, but i thoroughly enjoyed it. a memorable experience.

Looks gorgeous but the reservation process was a waste of time only to find out that my dog would not be allowed on premises. I had to make an account for a service I will not be able to use. Also, what kind of camp ground won't even let you pay a pet fee to have a pet be leashed with you? Price is currently $125. Same day booking was available.

Always a classic campground area ! Nostalgic and inviting always great weather and things to do and see. Great views and herbs that grow naturally the trails are amazing the beaches are always great even when it’s cold it’s a site to see . Best part is its very close to the city still !

Reserved a site here to camp. When we set up our tent we realized there was no park ranger or anything so we packed up our tent just to be safe since a homeless man walked through the park. Unfortunately we weren't able to stay because our vehicle was broken into down by the pier. Hopefully one day we can have a safe and fun trip back and enjoy the campsite!

Scenic area perfect for camping. Located in a valley, surrounded by trees and the ocean, which is not very far from the ocean. You get the feeling of entering another time & place when here (without sacrificing progress). The campground provides tents & sleeping bags with mats, as well as stoves. Fire pits, grill, picnic benches & locked boxes to store food are at each site. I believe the campgrounds are more frequently used for group camping rather than individual families, although I've seen them there too. The bathrooms provided have running water & regular toilets. Only drawback is there are no showers. There is an outside faucet to provide water for campers. Campground has receptacles for trash, recycling & compost collection. The goal here is too enjoy nature, while learning about native plants & animals. And most importantly, leave no evidence of your visit.

Now you know why we homeless people in the Bay Area don't care to work at Starbucks for $20/hr & struggle like f#@& to pay rent & instead prefer to pitch a tent in the Presideo or GG Park. Join us........

Incredible experience in the middle of the city. If you can book a site, do it. Can be foggy in the mornings but that's life in San Francisco.
